Beginner or expert this will be a fly fishing experience of a life time. From in front of the lodge to remote and very remote sites, get ready for tight lines. This area is the home to most line class records for Silver salmon. Also unique to this area is the productivity of dry flies for Silvers. The terms Poppers and Wogging may sound strange, but these are very visually stimulating ways to catch Silvers when the conditions are right.

Fly fishing instruction is available at Orca Adventure Lodge and our guides enjoy sharing their local knowledge. A fly tying area at the lodge is a popular meeting place in the evenings. Flies are not currently available in Cordova, so gear up before you arrive. We will be happy to send you information on what you will need and where you can get it. Please Contact Us if you have any questions or need any advice prior to your arrival!

Fly Fishing Rods/Reels are NOT Provided at Orca so please bring/mail your own to Cordova.  We have 1 or 2 rods on hand for instruction purposes and are glad to share a local pattern or two, but don't have them available for rent or guided adventures.
Half Day Eyak River Fishing

Departs daily from the Lodge to the beautiful Eyak River, only a few miles east of Cordova.  Utilizing one of our jet powered river skiffs, this trip targets sockeye salmon in June/July and coho salmon in August/September.  Several trout species are abundant throughout the season which makes this a great day on the water, even if you have to catch an afternoon flight!  Trip includes experienced local guide, spin casting gear, lunch, and fish processing.

Full Day Boat Charters

Departs daily from the Lodge to one of 40+ local streams and rivers in the Cordova area.  Utilizing one of our 33' catamarans or our landing craft, we are able to access some beautiful freshwater streams and river systems in some rarely fished areas of eastern Prince William Sound.  Formed from the surrounding mountains, clear water streams grow as they reach the sound, producing perfect habitat for salmon and trout.  These trips focus on pink and chum salmon in June/July/early August and coho salmon in late August/September, with several trout species abundant throughout the season.  Due to the tidal nature of some of the areas we fish, light to moderate hiking may be required to gain access to these rivers.  Trip includes experienced local guide, spin casting gear, lunch, and fish processing.

Fly Out Fishing

Departing daily from the Lodge, this trip is designed for the most adventurous of anglers.  Our expert pilot takes you on a scenic flight over fantastic terrain to one of our favorite remote lakes or rivers for a full day of fishing. A spectacular beach landing along the Gulf of Alaska is a memorable experience, and a great way to catch ocean bright fish. When beach landings are not available, a float plane can be utilized. In some areas a skiff my be utilized to access various pools up or down river from where our plane lands, but in some situations, a short hike is all that is required to access these very special fishing locations.  Sockeye, pink, chum, coho salmon, and various trout species makes this trip a blast no matter what month you are staying with us.  Trip includes experienced local guide, flight cost, spin casting gear, and lunch.
